About Me

Kate Herbert is a Portland native, and has had an interest in local history from a young age. Kate discovered digital history while in graduate school and found that it allowed her to explore her interests in a way that came more naturally to her than writing. Kate works as a Library, Archives and Museum data and retrieval specialist with the State of Maine, which allows her to work with both physical and digital history on the job as well. She holds a MLS from the University of Maryland, and a MA in American and New England Studies from the University of Southern Maine.
